Historian and scholar Steven Beller was born in London as son of an Austrian mother and an American father. Educated in Cambridge, he published extensively about Austrian and Jewish History. In his talk Steven Beller will focus on the way in which the empirical realities of Central Europe, also in Austria, provided the ground on which antisemitism could grow. He will further illustrate that the same Central European region produced the ideological and intellectual legacy that can best be used as an effective counter-measure to antisemitism now or indeed in the future. Steven Beller recently published the book “Antisemitism: A Very Short Introduction” (by Oxford University Press).
