Anton Pelinka is professor of political science at the University of Innsbruck and director of the Institute of Conflict Research in Vienna. He was formerly the Austrian representative to the European Union's Commission on Racism and Xenophobia. Prof. Anton Pelinka has been a leading figure among Austrian political scientists for the last three decades and his research has focused primarily on comparative politics and democratic theory. In recent years he has published on issues of democracy and transnational politics. In his lecture he will focus on what the transatlantic relations will be between the United States and Europe, after the new president has taken office.
