JIR̃I BARTOVANEC: ENTROPY # 119

As part of the kick-off of this year's Moving Sounds Festival - Liquid Architecture / Frozen Music, Czech choreographer and dancer Jiri Bartovanec presents and performs his newest solo piece-Entropy # 119. Created especially for this festival, the performance will be held on the rooftop at the Czech Center's Bohemian National Hall and will be followed by discussion with the choreographer.
Jiri Bartovanec was born in 1983 in Marianske Lazne, Czech Republic. He studied at the ballet school of J. Dolecek in Karlovy Vary and the Duncan Centre Conservatory in Prague. Among many others Bartovanec worked with Sasha Waltz, Jochen Roller, Mirella Weingarten, Beate Bormann and William Forshyte.
In 2008 Bartovanec' first solo Project "When my mind is rocking I know it's 7" premiered in Berlin and was later nominated for the Czech Dance Award "Cena Sazky". Since then, he appeared in several films, finished further solo projects and is working as a rehearsal director. He is currently working with the Spitfire Company (CZ) on their newest piece "Sniper's Lake" and prepares several separate projects for New York, Berlin, Seoul and Prague.
