German virtuoso Daniel Röhn performs Kreisler's Birthday concert in the hall Kreisler called “the gateway to musical America”. This fitting birthday tribute, in a place which owes its continued existence in part to Kreisler’s passionate campaign to save the hall, is given by Daniel Röhn - son and grandson of two of Germany’s most prominent concertmasters, his grandfather a colleague of Kreisler himself.
“A sensational player”, as The Strad notes, Röhn performs Kreisler's beloved musical vignettes interspersed with anecdotes which evoke and illustrate the life and times of Kreisler and his world, from the seamy Vienna salons to the bustling streets of Manhattan.
Röhn’s The Kreisler Story, embedded in his own family history and rapidly becoming a must-see in Europe's concert halls, promises to be something for both seasoned concert goers and newcomers alike
