ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Lucia Leena – voice, guitar
Judith Ferstl – double bass, voice
Based in Vienna the two musicians Judith Ferstl and Lucia Leena embrace the liberating possibilities of double bass and vocals with their formation’Juneberry’. Inbetween songwriting and improvisation they set poetry to music (Fernando Pessoa’s heteronymous poems, Pablo Neruda’s ’Book of Questions’,...), develop poetic soundscapes with spherical electronics and compose lyrical melodies. Their approach is patience while creating - always with the possibility to form and change the music moment-to-moment. The debut album ’Juneberry’ was released in January 2016 at ’Freifeld Tonträger’, Vienna.
’Slightly fragrant, white flowers in drooping clusters that appear in early spring before the leaves. Way to small, round, edible berries, dark purplish-black in June. Finely-toothed, elliptic to oblong leaves emerge bronze-purple in spring, mature to dark green in summer, and turn red-orange in fall. ’ Juneberry. They go where blackberries can't.
