COMPOSER PORTRAIT: BEAT FURRER

MONDAY APR 25, 07:00 PM

The 2014 Great Austrian State Prize winner Beat Furrer belongs to a select line of European composers who are equally at home in both instrumental and theatrical operatic genres. This ACFNY supported concert by the Argento Chamber Ensemble highlights Beat Furrer's exploration of the human voice and instrumental sounds: a WORLD PREMIERE featuring soprano Tony Arnold and trombonist Tim Albright; two electrifying works for chamber ensemble; and a dramatic work for large chamber orchestra, narrated by the composer himself.

Carnegie Hall, Zankel Hall
