Federal Minister Kurz: "We seek to further deepen relations with the Western Balkans states" Launch of the second round of the Austrian Leadership Programs (ALPS)

A total of 25 international executives from nine countries have accepted the invitation extended by Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz to participate for one week in the Austrian Leadership Programs (ALPS). This time, the focus has been placed on decision-makers from the Western Balkans states and participants also include representatives from Georgia, Lebanon and Mexico.

“The Western Balkans is a priority region of Austrian Foreign Policy. We have developed ALPS with a view to further deepening political and economic relations“, Federal Minister Sebastian Kurz stated at the event marking the opening of the second ALPS, which was held in the Austrian Foreign Ministry.

Under the Austrian Leadership Programs, participants visit high-level representatives and top venues in Austria. The main focus is placed on meeting and exchanging views with leading politicians and top business executives. The programme’s agenda also includes visits to international organisations that are based in Austria, such as the OSCE, where participants will have the opportunity to get first-hand insights and information on Austria’s Chairmanship next year. “We have launched the ALPS in order to highlight the active role played by Austria in the world and present Austria as a successful business location which boasts a number of hidden champions”, Sebastian Kurz concluded.
