The grant is addressed to composers who have completed their training and/or have been working as composers for at least five years. Whereas students are not eligible for application, post‐graduate students are welcome. In case they are accepted, applicants need to be ready to compose a piece for an Austrian ensemble to be named at a later point in time. While the intention is to have the first performance of the piece within the residence period, performance cannot be guaranteed.

Musical instruments and electronic equipment cannot be provided. If notified to the organizers well in advance, a recording studio may be made available for several hours/days.
