Christoph Palaschke (b. 1974), an autodidact artist from Austria, is sporting his inner Andy Warhol by portraying celebrities from the past and present. His first solo show in the United States - entitled FACES 2.0 - is on view through March 31, 2017, at the Austrian Cultural Forum Washington.

The show represents an overview of the artist's oeuvre with works ranging from photorealist portraits in charcoal and acrylic to more abstract, reduced ones, so-called „abstraits,“ including a site-specific series of Hollywood icons like Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando.

Active since 1999, the artist‘s works have been also presented in Egypt and the Ukraine, while some are on permanent display in the redesigned VIP-area of the Vienna Airport. An impressive achievement for a daytime officer of his native Vienna's homicide squad!
