From April 22 to 24, 2026, Ambassador Schneebauer and an Austrian delegation participated in eMerge Americas at the Miami Beach Convention Center – Florida’s leading technology and innovation conference and expo.

Since 2020, the state’s total merchandise trade has grown significantly, with exports increasing by more than 60 percent and imports reaching approximately USD 108 billion. Miami, in particular, has emerged as a dynamic center for innovation, attracting global enterprises, investors, startups, and leaders in defense technology, national security, health, and finance.

Against this backdrop, the conference provided a valuable platform for Ambassador Schneebauer and the Austrian delegation to exchange views with U.S. counterparts and gain insights into current market trends and opportunities for cooperation. Discussions focused on the evolving role of artificial intelligence, shifting from conceptual debate to practical implementation. Particular attention was given to developments in “physical AI,” including robotics and real-world systems, as well as advances in fintech and deep tech.

The conference concluded with a shared commitment to further strengthening Austria–U.S. collaboration in emerging technologies and innovation.
