On May 16, 2026, Austria hosted the Eurovision Song Contest Finale in Vienna, welcoming 26 artists to compete for the prestigious title. To bring the excitement of Europe’s biggest music competition to the United States, the Embassy of Austria, together with our valued partner, the American Austrian Cultural Society, hosted a Eurovision watch party at the embassy in Washington, D.C.
On May 9, 2026, thousands of visitors stopped by the Embassy of Austria in Washington, D.C. on the occasion of the annual EU Open House to discover Austria’s rich culture, history, and picturesque tourist destinations. Throughout the day, guests were invited to take part in Ländler dance lessons, while enjoying a true taste of Austria with apple strudel by Little Austria, Schnitzel sliders by District Forks, Manner wafers, and Red Bull.
From May 3–6, an Austrian delegation joined more than 5,500 participants from across the globe at this year’s SelectUSA Investment Summit in National Harbor, Maryland. Thirty delegates representing 22 Austrian companies from a wide range of sectors gathered to explore investment opportunities across the United States, including representatives from Plasser American Corporation, Kapsch TrafficCom North America, Red Bull USA, and Doppelmayr USA.
