In July 2026, Austrian Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Family Claudia Bauer visited New York and Washington DC. During her time in DC, Federal Minister Bauer met with several members of Congress, including members of the Congressional Austria Caucus, to discuss Austria’s partnership with the United States.
In addition to her meetings at Capitol Hill, Federal Minister Bauer gave a keynote speech about current developments in the Western Balkans at the Hudson Institute. In a discussion led by Peter Rough, Senior Fellow and Director of the Center for Europe and Eurasia at the Hudson Institute, Federal Minister Bauer elaborated on Austria’s role in the EU enlargement process, specifically in regards to the countries of the Western Balkans.
