From May 3–6, an Austrian delegation joined more than 5,500 participants from across the globe at this year’s SelectUSA Investment Summit in National Harbor, Maryland. Thirty delegates representing 22 Austrian companies from a wide range of sectors gathered to explore investment opportunities across the United States, including representatives from Plasser American Corporation, Kapsch TrafficCom North America, Red Bull USA, and Doppelmayr USA.
A particular highlight of the summit was a meeting between Ambassador Petra Schneebauer and North Carolina Governor Josh Stein, underscoring the strong and successful economic cooperation between Austria and North Carolina.
Following the summit, the Austrian Embassy hosted a reception at the Austrian Residence in Washington, D.C., bringing together Austrian and U.S. counterparts to further strengthen the economic partnership between the two countries. Discussions focused on shared priorities including job creation, innovation, and reinforcing transatlantic ties.
On this occasion, Ambassador Schneebauer also welcomed U.S. Ambassador to Austria Art Fisher, Deputy Under Secretary for International Trade Diane Farrell, and Under Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Security Jeffrey Kessler to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States — naturally, in true Austrian fashion, with Sachertorte.
