Austrian Consulate General Visits the Austrian FIFA base camp in Santa Barbara

The Austrian Consulate General in Los Angeles is thrilled that the Austrian Football Association chose beautiful southern California for their team base camp.

In anticipation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Consul General Christine Moser, alongside Bernhard Neuhold, CEO of the Austrian Football Association (ÖFB), and their delegation, recently met with Paul Perotte, Mayor of Goleta, and representatives from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) in Goleta and Santa Barbara.

The visit, which included a tour of the UCSB campus with its state-of-the-art Harder Stadium, was the kick-off for a successful installation of the Austrian national team’s team base camp in Goleta. Moreover, Austria is scheduled to play an international friendly match against Guatemala in the Rose Bowl, Pasadena, on June 10, 2026.
