On July 28, 2025, Consul General Michael Postl hosted a dinner reception at the Austrian residence in Los Angeles to present the Gold Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria to Dr. Andrea Alexa Schnitzler-Sekyra.

As head of the Scholar Program at the Getty Research Institute since 2010, Dr. Schnitzler-Sekyra has played a key role in promoting academic and cultural exchange between Austria and the U.S. She has continuously supported Austrian scholars, initiated numerous collaborations and events, and contributed to strengthening transatlantic ties in science, culture, and innovation.
